We can’t wait to meet you on a Sunday morning. Here, you’ll find a community that’s honest about life, committed to Jesus, and eager to walk with you wherever you are on your journey.

Each weekend, we gather around music that engages the heart and teaching from God’s Word that’s practical, relatable, and rooted in everyday ordinary life. Creating an honest space where people can listen, reflect, and grow together, wherever they are on the journey, is deeply important to us.

Whether you’re curious, hopeful, questioning, stuck, or navigating life’s challenges, there’s a place for you here, and we can’t wait to meet you.

WHAT DO SUNDAY MORNINGS LOOK LIKE?

    Prayer

    We gather at 9:15am for pre-service prayer to slow down, listen for God, and pray for one another as we prepare for worship. Whether you’re exploring faith or have been following Jesus for years, you’re welcome to join in. If you’re not comfortable praying out loud, that’s completely fine; come listen, reflect, and pray quietly in whatever way feels right for you.

    Worship

    Service starts at 10am and lasts for around 70 minutes. We begin with musical worship turning our hearts toward God and grounding ourselves in his presence and story. We believe worship and justice belong together, expressed not only in what we sing but in how we love, serve, and care for those on the margins.

    Teaching

    Our teaching is creative, Jesus-centred, and grounded in everyday life. We aim to create space for both curiosity and conviction, using scripture, storytelling, and cultural touch points. Rather than offering quick answers, our aim is to invite people into deeper reflection with honest questions. We welcome seekers and long-time followers alike to learn and grow side by side.

    Hosting

    Nearing the end of service, we set aside a short moment for what we call “hosting time” instead of traditional announcements. It’s a moment to share stories, updates, and what’s currently happening in the life of our church, helping us stay connected to one another and attentive to how the Holy Spirit is moving in and through our community. We finish this time with a word of blessing (benediction).

    Community

    At Halifax Church, our time together doesn’t have to end when the service does. We value the moments before and after when people linger to connect, share stories, drink coffee, and talk about life. It’s in these conversations that friendships deepen and faith grows in the context of community.

Children & Students

Each Sunday morning, children (0-Grade 8) gather in our Kids Church space for a meaningful time of worship, teaching, learning, and prayer, designed just for them. We have unique classrooms for various age groups. Check-in opens 15 minutes before the service begins.

If you’re new or visiting, we recommend registering here in advance to make check-in quick and seamless on your first Sunday. There will be a team at the door to meet you, help you sign in, and ensure you know where our classrooms are.

Jr. High students (Grades 6-8) begin the morning worshipping with the adults, then head downstairs to their own space for Jr. High Church.

Our Kids Church follows Plan to Protect and each of our volunteers has been screened, approved, and trained to facilitate a safe and fun classroom environment.
