Baptism

If you’ve made a commitment to Jesus, it’s time to take the next step and make your decision known.

Baptism is an important milestone in the life of anyone who has chosen to follow Jesus.

Baptism is an outward expression of an inward trust in and love for Jesus. A believer is put under the water, which symbolizes dying to an old way of life. They are then brought up out of the water, symbolizing them resurrecting to a new way of life — lived for Jesus by the power of the Holy Spirit. It is a significant moment to “bury” their old life, old habits, old ways and begin to walk in a new life. In other words, baptism is a visible representation that a person is identifying with the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus.

FAQs: Baptism

  • Once in the water, our pastor(s) will pray with you, then lay hands behind your head and shoulder to help you go under the water. When you come up out of the water, please know that it is fully acceptable to express your feelings. This is a very emotional time. There is nothing more beautiful than people cheering and joining in with you as you celebrate your faith in Jesus. You will then leave the water, dry off, and watch and celebrate with the other people who are getting baptized. We will send you a certificate of your baptism to commemorate your commitment to Jesus.

  • Changing rooms are nearby. Bring a change of clothes, a towel, and a plastic bag for your wet clothes. We encourage participants to wear shorts and a dark t-shirt. We will have t-shirts available.
